Arthur Burrage Farwell
Born 1852, Died 1936
Farwell began the Hyde Park Protective Association in an attempt to keep the neighborhood near the 1893 World's Fair dry. They had no chance.
Taking the pledge against alcohol at the Women's Christian Temperance Union, Farwell did succeed in closing unlicensed saloons in Hyde Park.1
