John Dillinger
Notorious bank robber and folk hero to many, John Dillinger was hiding out in Chicago in the summer of 1934 under the alias of "Jimmie Lawrence," a Board of Trade clerk.
At the time he was living at 2420 Fullerton Ave, with all levels of law enforcement out to get him. On Sunday, July 22nd, Dillinger was at the Biograph Theater seeing Manhattan Melodrama. When he exited the Theater at 10:30 pm, the FBI and cops were waiting for him. Shooting him in the back and side, Dillinger fell to the ground dead.1
