Johnny Torrio

Johnny Torrio was the undisputed ruler of the underworld from the day of Jim Colosimo's murder (May 11, 1920), until the attempt on his life on January 24, 1925. During this time period, Torrio was making an estimated $70 million a year, with Al Capone at his side as chief gunman.

The assassination attempt that took place the 24th of January saw Torrio receive bullets in his jaw, chest, right arm, and groin. Managing to survive the ordeal, he fled to New York.1
